A Southport entertainer, Matthew Fearon has taken on an abseil challenge, despite his fear of heights and aims to raise over £500 for local hospice, Queenscourt.

Matthew said, “I'm embarking on a daring mission—The Anfield Abseil! As I prepare to descend 100 feet down, I find myself hesitant to admit my fear of heights. Yet, I know that overcoming this challenge is essential, not just for personal growth, but most importantly to raise crucial funds for Queenscourt Hospice.”

Matthew himself is a survivor of testicular cancer and does not shy away from talking openly about this and helping others going through life threatening illness.

“I've witnessed firsthand the exceptional care Queenscourt Hospice provide, even in the face of heartbreaking loss.”

“I'd like to express my deepest gratitude to Hayley Jones, who encouraged me to do this and ultimately for her unwavering dedication to Queenscourt Hospice. Her ongoing charity work is a testament to her selflessness and compassion.”

Matthew is not only known for his guitar playing, vocal and stage presence he also has a very dry sense of humour. He added,

“I know that money is tight, but any donation is much appreciated by me and of course - I’ll send you an absurd voicenote to express this gratitude.”
